Resident Brewing in Downtown San Diego

A sister business of the Local Eatery & Drinking Hole gastropub downtown, Resident Brewing also pours beers out of the back of the restaurant, where drinkers and diners will spot the shiny metal tanks of its brewhouse through a wall of windows. Baseball fans may better recognize Resident as the newest San Diego brewery with an established presence at Petco Park, where its lineup of beers pair up with Padres home games.

Resident Brewing Winning Homebrews

In just two years, Resident has found demand, not just downtown, but throughout the city. That's thanks in large part to the work of founding head brewer Robert Masterson, who stepped into the role as an award-winning homebrewer and found a new vocation. One of his winning homebrews made the move with him, and the surprising but delicious pairing of toasted coconut and hops of Vacation Coconut IPA must be sipped to be believed. Or, if you're a fan of IPA trends, check out Resident's All the Cheater Hops. This may be the murkiest of all the hazy IPAs in the city, boasting dank fruit and wine aromatics thanks to a heaping serving of San Diego beer drinkers' favorite, and most flavorful hops: Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson.
